As a mom and psychologist, I focus upon two main factors when providing care: 1) utilizing the most evidence-based assessments and protocols specific to each patient's concerns and 2) tailoring treatment goals collaboratively in order to align this with each family's unique values, beliefs, and culture. I am dedicated to providing the best care possible given that I am aware with everyone single patient that they are someone's loved one. Just as I want my loved ones to be treated by a provider with expertise, kindness, and compassion, so too do I believe it is my duty to provide this same level of care.
Prior to starting Little Dove, I had the privilege of serving as an assistant professor for the Medical College of Wisconsin and as a psychologist for Children's Wisconsin. My experiences in research at both of these wonderful institutions cemented my practice of grounding my clinical work in the most up to date medical best practices. I am thankful to the patients of these organizations for allowing me to share their journey in improving the quality of life for themselves and their families.
I enjoy working with all the mental health concerns and stressful transitions experienced by families. The care can range from helping children with social anxiety, or a teenager struggling with depression and rebellious behavior, to a parent struggling with ineffective parenting practices. In addition to my experience in these areas, my training and experiences have also provided me with a specialization in working with families of children with medical concerns.
